Summer Tips for What Comes Next: Future-Focused Fun

Travel is one of the best ways to expand your horizons and discover what truly excites you. If you are heading out of town, try these three simple activities:
Visit local museums and galleries. Pay close attention to how different regions approach art, history, and storytelling. How does that local culture compare to your hometown? What problems are they solving differently? Comparing cultures is a powerful way to spark ideas about the environments you might want to work in one day.
Check out a university or college campus. Even if you do not plan to study at that specific institution, wander around anyway. Walking the grounds helps you get a feel for what you like, and dislike, in a campus environment.
Talk to the people you meet. Strike up conversations with locals or professionals. Ask what they do for a living and how they got there. A casual 10-minute conversation can open your eyes to careers you never knew existed.
If You Are Staying Local...
Staying in town does not mean your summer has to be stagnant. There are plenty of resources to help you grow your portfolio and mindset:
Volunteer through VolunteerMatch. Use this time to give back. Browse local and online opportunities on sites like VolunteerMatch or AmeriCorps that genuinely interest you. It is a fantastic, pressure-free way to build real-world skills along the way.
Take a free online course just for fun. Log in to your school Unifrog account using your school email. You will find thousands of free university courses aggregated in one place. No grades, no pressure, just pure curiosity.
Explore with fresh eyes. Play tourist in your own backyard. Visit a nearby science center, local art museum, or wander through a neighborhood you have never visited before. You might find a new passion right on your doorstep.
