We offer a service that follows our students into the world and beyond at the Learning Pathways . Whenever students decide to take a Gap Year. the Peace Corps, or participate in National Service (NS) there are many options for them, and of course, many questions to be asked. A key to our success is helping students pick a timeframe for applying, researching, tracking applications, and planning for testing. We are proud to say that our outstanding Learning Pathways Consultants make Gap Year, Peace Corps, or and National Service transitions as easy as A, B, C.
A. Pick a timeframe for when you plan to apply to universities/colleges:
Gap Year students traditionally apply in Grade 12 and ask for the universities/colleges for deferment. However, students can have that one year extended to two years if they demonstrate need. National Service students have similar options and traditionally defer for one or two years. Both groups are supported by the Learning Pathways Consultants in preparing their application during Grade 12.
B. Research, plan, track, and stay in touch:
Grade 12 students follow their schools internal deadlines and graduation plan by preparing all documentation before leaving your high-school. We help with this. Students can also participate in Gap Year, Peace Corps, or National Service information sessions with Learning Pathways if they wish to know more. This means whether they are on deployment or interrailing around Europe, they have a plan and the documentation they need. We continue to support students throughout. We stay in touch, help them plan, and encourage them to schedule one-on-one meetings online. We continue to support and advise our students regardless of where they are in the world.
C. Testing needs to be considered as well:
Some placements require testing such as ACT or SAT, particularly if applying to the USA. These tests are best taken in Grade 12. Your students may need assistance taking language tests such as Duolingo, TOEFL, or IELTS, and we ask that they be taken closer to the application date. BMAT or UCAT (UK Medicine), LNAT (UK Law), ISAT or UCAT ANZ (Australia Medicine) may require the application of rigorous knowledge and skills. We recommend the best practice schedules.
Whatever your deferment needs, we can advise you as easily as A, B, C.
